WOODSIDE Petroleum has posted a 52 per cent jump in second quarter sales revenue, after production rose and the price of crude oil soared.
Production for the three months ended June 14 per cent rose to 19.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), from 17MMBoe in the same quarter in 2007.
This helped pushed June quarter revenue to $1.475 billion, from $970 million last year.
"Revenue was up 52 per cent over the corresponding quarter last year driven by higher commodity prices and additional production," Woodside said.
For the 2008 calendar half year, production was up four per cent to 36.5MMboe compared to last year while revenue rose 38 per cent to $2.574 billion.
