yes, true, but i checked out the ADR, since BHP did not perform on our market yesterday but BHP did perform very well on both the london and new york exchanges the previous sessions, the equivalent means the ADR equivalent for BHP here in aust is 26.05 ... a mere 4 cents lower than the close yesterday. so even with the fall, the aussie scrip is still on about par. There must have been a feeling that the markets were going to drop yesterday, BHP really should have went up to around 26.50 based on its performance on the other exchanges.
i hold long, my position became profitable this past week, am still happy to hold.
