If they succeed in keeping the price down they maximise the additional shares they receive for their investment and also get the opportunity to soak up shares from those SH who are losing the faith.
Based on your post about the trading patterns (peak at 5.6c before falling to 3.6 ish c, or less then the previous day close of 4.3 c) following the recent EP drill results, in my (completely uninformed) opinion this could be happening which is why I keep on topping up.
Continuing to hold and top up as the potential in LD, EP oxide and New Horizons is phenomenal, even without considering the Cu porphyry deposit.
