There are alot of voters that hold Telstra Shares, so impacting them and having the grapevine do the work will surely have a election swing.

If they treat the Share Holders well, the grapevine would be positive.

They are assessing the impact of what will can happen with the NBN.

IMO, Telstra will split into 2, telstra and a telstra2.

Telstra1 One could have the copper Network and Infrastructure, Wholesale, Bigpond. (legislated by government) ****

Telstra2 The other 3g, Foxtel, Cable, Sensis (Telstra2) and Bigpond2. (not legislated by government)

Shareholders get a stake in the new company.

Splitting the accounts into Retail and Wholesale is giving there IP on their pricing to there comptetitors.

The NBN could then put an offer for the Telstra1 assets, and the shareholders can accept or reject. This provides the future fund a way to convert there holding into Cash.

    Anyway my thoughts...
