It's not that expensive. I signed up my parents under my name for $67.45 a month on 50/20mbit with at the time $120 setup fee. Everyone in the vicinity has direct line of sight so getting good signal was not an issue. The road is otherwise served with just adsl2+ and we topped out at 4.8mbit.

Here's something else that people might not know. With every Uniti wireless install, their equipment actually broadcasts a free open wifi network named UNITI WIRELESS FREE. It uses a tiny portion of untapped bandwidth from the clients antenna. This is HOW they advertise and spread. Because within a few weeks the neighbours were knocking on our door asking what the new antenna does and why there's a free network around. And within a few more weeks they all had signed up to their own uniti wireless connections, since my parents gave them good reviews.

The actual internet service has been amazing and NBN is still years off at the address. The business model works.
