Couple of very important pieces of info though are,

The act of 'jumping the creek' is used when busting out of a Trading Range

The creek is defined by an 'upper resistance line' of the Rally Peaks within the range

The expression - 'creek' is used in periods of 'accumulation' or 'reaccumulation' trading ranges

Where as, in a trading range of 'distribution' or 'redistribution' the expression - 'ice' is used

Here the boy scout is walking gently along the ice of 'support' and if they break it and fall thru, that is referred to as 'breaking the ice' and therefore he/market drowns

That would then define the moment the stock falls out of the 'trading range' and into a new downtrend
