I spend a lot of time looking for charts with this pattern. A stock has fallen out of favour for a long time, sometimes drifting for years. Often with good reason. Then something changes. Volume and price both increase. At first there is a new equilibrium. People who figure it out start buying and the sellers are exhausted longs who can't believe their luck that their shares are worth maybe double what they've been for years. Volume increases and pressure builds. Then some good news arrives and suddenly off it goes. Explosive breakout.
Obviously it does not happen every time, but it's a consistent money making pattern. Look at long term AZS, AZY, DRM, SMN charts as examples from the past of how it goes. Maximum downside here for MTB is zero. Upside? Let's see.
