I have to give it to you all... staying true to Platinum is some feat. The last 5 years at least would have been painful watching everything go up...
I know value has been out of favour for a long time... but I don't think any manager can use that as an ongoing excuse.
PE ratios are such a deceptive tool when looked at superficially. I get that sometimes they are extremely relevant... but if you can't work out why a growth company, expanding around the world has a low PE, yet a high market cap, you shouldn't be investing.
It is definitely an Australian thing to expect companies to simply pay out profits as dividends every year. That pretty much sums up the ingenuity, and mindset of companies here.
Platinum has been one big disappointment... and if people think that's unfair... simply review all their funds relative to the benchmark... not just the flagship.
