When the price of admission is on par with a movie ticket I think we all just go with the flow. Personally, my tickets are rather expensive in comparison for when I'm trying to make money, I want to put something on the table that has a chance of making a reasonable return for the inherent risks involved, no tickets under $5k for me. I also believe that it's better to be fully across 5-10 stocks than diversified to the point where you cannot simply keep a track of all your holdings. 28-30 holdings is text book diversification across multiple industries but try and monitor each and everyone of those stocks and you're overestimating your abilities from my experience. Better to fully research and understand what you are investing in before laying down coin that is above Gold Class tickets for two IMO.

Everyone has their own investment strategies, so I guess I shouldn't be so critical, just passing on my knowledge, as it has worked very well for me so far.
