Not really sure what your point is.
You seem to think "spec stock" is a bad word. The whole point of spec stocks is that you buy them before they become non-spec stocks. Hence the speculation. In addition, different specs have different degree of risk.
You talk as if this is somehow new information or something.
Most people who invest check where the company is at before they invest.
As i said, not sure what your point is, unless you're just expressing surprise or something.
