Umm... Not clear which announcement you're talking about.
Also, while its true that the asx has tightened up rules re announcements, I was under the impression that they now had to be 'material', no? which covers more than just dollar value.
Having said that, i wouldn't be surprised if you are right regarding the rule, the asx is pretty daft
