Some people talk about gaps like, if there is trading at x dollars on day 1, and the on day 2 it jumps from x - 1 to x + 1, then apparently there is a gap at x, amd x has to be filled, as if everything that happened prior to the gap either never happened or is of no consequence. I find that hard to believe personally. I feel like there is something missing from the popular gap theory (ie maybe volume at that price level?), that perhaps someone with actual knowledge can explain the actual gap theory.
