Not sure I agree personally - ta is for risk management and charts reflect current expectations and anticipation of the future. Historical trends and patterns are useful for finding new trades but don't guarantee anything. Company fundamentals are based on available historic information and when new information comes in the form of a market surprise well the whole thing gets re-balanced and emotions get reflected in the charts etc.
