There isn't one battery chemistry to rule them all, even Tesla employs NCA, NCM and LFP depending on the model and application. Ask yourself why the IPO was priced at 85 cents and not $2.20 or whatever the price is at this point. There's an implied risk with any new battery tech and even when you have the technology down pat, going to production is a whole other story. Do you have any idea how long it has taken to get the 4860 cells from the drawing board to pilot plant? Do you realise how much Tesla has spent getting it to that point?
The pilot plant for the tabless battery was north of $2 billion USD and they have been trying to make that battery for 2 years now. Just because you've got a battery that works on the test bench doesn't mean it's cost effective, can be mass produced or won't be superseded by another battery tech before you actually get it to market. People acting like LIS is the next big thing whilst not understanding the battery industry will be the first to supply the ATO with their capital loss statements for the year.
