Looking at what PPK has been saying about this battery, it looks like there are a few ways this battery can sell itself.
1. Reduce the battery by 66% and keep the same performance of the same Li-ion battery (33kwh vs 100kwh)
or
2. Have a battery that has 3x the range.
So think of each of those LIS cycles as three Li-ion cycles, which would make it still over 60% (whatever that number is) at 2,700 equivalent Li-ion cycles.
If LIS can make a car drive 1,000kms per charge as they presume, 900 cycles is closing in on that million mile battery (the test didn't finish) and also light enough for use in flight crafts.
