Must admit I do dabble in candle sticks but that hardly qualifies, so I accept I am not a chartist; possibly because I have undiagnosed ADD.
However, I do know a high volume trader who is a Very successful investor. He is a full-on chartist and I have the utmost respect for him.
How could I not; he has a Maths degree, a brilliant mind, quit his job as a Math teacher years ago, to trade. He is rather wealthy, only trades. Some years ago, when I asked How is XYZ Industries looking, he asked "What is it code?" That is a pure trader working off charts, and a Very successful one.
If only I could focus.
But we all have our methods.
And, as John Nash once said (para-phrased), if we all wanted the same thing, markets would cease to function.
