I would have thought the recent drop in sp was mainly due to the March’s in-the-money option expiration. Firstly, those options are owned by long investors and they are less likely to sell more than needed to fund the purchase of shares. Secondly, it does look like traders may have taken the opportunity to force a capitulation before (good) news coming in to instigate a sp trend reversal.
