Ah I see. So in fact MOST/all of the buyers and sellers I see in the market depth are algo trades... makes sense. And then enter stage scaremongers.

So can these traders see if a particular seller is a retail trader (in which to buy their stock cheaply) on their sophisticated trading systems, or are all buyers and sellers anonymous on the ASX? (I've tried to google this question previously with limited success).

Hopefully these questions and answers are helping some other passive punters out there...
