If shareholders are feeling frustrated about the lack of an announcement, give a thought to Kingsgate's directors... The current situation puts them in a very awkward position, with opening ceremonies taking place (Akara Facebook), the opening of the mine being discussed in the Thai Parliament, yet nothing to the ASX or shareholders. The Thai Government is clearly reaping the rewards of the mine opening, with all and sundry lining up to take credit for the improved prosperity for the communities and the wider region. There is absolutely no doubt that the mine will open, hence the directors (with their obligations as noted by other posters) will be the keenest of all to secure the Thai Government's approval and make an announcement. Don't think otherwise.

Ask yourself the question, "would anyone else as a director have done a better job securing the approval given the information as it was presented"? Kingsgate are a guest in their country, so when the goalposts move (and rubber stamps become long drawn-out issues) having directors in charge who have the expertise and are trustworthy is paramount.
