Spare a thought for the baby boomers who used their equity as a credit card. Mate hired a whole restaurant for his 50th birthday, booked it on his offset. Year off work no worries use the equity. Now nearing 60 and no nest egg left. Keep working till 75 if you can find a job, or drastically cut lifestyle The increase in house prices over last 30 years have not been kind to everybody. No big inheritance for many offspring.
Might have to use the offset to buy a coffee in the future.
