What a lucky bunch we are it looks like those with some cash sitting in the bank will be able to protect themselves against the inevitable failures in the australian banking system by buying much cheaper gold within the next month or two. With the outrageous cost of australian housing it is inevitable that we will have bank failures as housing goes south into 2009-2010. Stay away from the gold shares they will kill you. PS you are not going to get rich in gold, I worked that out a few years ago.
