What's surprised me is how many people were vociferously against property as an investment vehicle. It was very similar to Ford and Holden arguments I've seen, sort of silly.
The fact that their attacks were coupled with obviously simplistic views showed that they have no first hand experience as investors in property.
Like any form of investment it pays to understand what you're doing. If you learn how it works (and it's not that hard) you can make some serious dollars for very little outlay of your own hard earned money.
Jan Somers has some wonderful books which are a great starting point.
