I think Australia has finally awoken from its hibernation and realised it has been screwed for far too long. Because now that we're hovering around parity we are still seeing evidence of massive price discrepancies between us and the rest of the world. It's always been about our dollar, our isolation and importation costs. But there's evidence that we can access the global market online and come out significantly ahead price wise. So why are we still paying too much for our software, our games, our clothing, our electrical goods, our tools, our fuel, etc. We have just been far too accepting and tolerant for far too long, just as the Chinese workers have been accepting their 1 dollar a day wages for too long. The internet has been both the educator and the leveller, and people are real ticked off as a result.

How are our leaders going to come up with the reasoning or a tax system to halt the exodus of online shopping? Has the shopping complexes gone too far, knowing that retailers had us consumers over a barrel, by charging shop owners ransom money for their lease? And in return, it is safe to assume that the retailers passed on those costs back to the consumer. Globalisation has been a big win for corporations, but it's also now giving something back to the masses who are finally able to use technology to their own advantage.

Our petrol should now be well below a dollar, which will more than offset interest rate rises.
