I purchase everything i can from overseas because the price is usually about 33% of the Australian cost and the service is 200% better
I can get items in Qld from USA/Asia in half the time it takes to get them here
But it not only is the difference between aus and o/seas it is also the difference between the city and the country
12 months ago I purchased LPG (CAR) in Melbourne at 42 cents and then drove back to QLD and paid 89 cents up the Newell Hwy.
Before anyone takes a poke at me for not buying Australian. What can you actually buy that is Australian, most of the stuff is "badge engineered" ie known brand name but made wherever they get the best price
Unfortunatley I have not found a way to purchase petrol/gas overseas
There have been some moves to stop the internet shopping with Google changing it's search system so that Australian results override USA even when you request USA. Also some of the firms in USA who have franchises in Australia will not let you access their USA sites
So for me Australians are still taking too long to wake up
