You are right though, soil samples are really really early stage, I88 does have a few other U projects though that they recently acquired, a couple in WA, Bellah Bore East has a small historical 2004 JORC MRE of 350,000t @ 210ppm, which is definitely not enough for a mining operation to be worth it, and another project in WA Yeelerie North, but early stage like Portland Creek, Newfoundland, basically mapping and soil sampling, in saying that WA has issues where Uranium mining is currently banned, not much point of having projects you aren't allowed to mine, and I dunno if that changes anytime soon, WA is a Labor Party stronghold.

Then there is their other Canadian uranium project Des Herbiers in Quebec with an inferred mre of 162Mt @ 123ppm U2O8, which is really low grade from my understanding.

So I88 is mainly a bet on Portland Creek being economical from my understanding, while soil samples look outstanding, it's a long way to go and soil samples don't usually fetch MCs north of 15m, so yep it is a bit high priced at the moment, for the stage they are at, I believe there's even a lot of stocks with soil samples in different commodities under 10m.
