In the travel industry I think its important to compare apples to oranges.I am not A big fan of web compared to tvl but at least they both compare a variety of fruit. The last time I visited an independent site I did not see to much comparing against their competitors. So you could reasonably forecast that the "independents" cant compete against sites that may be representing 20 different carriers. The thing I dont understand with tvl is why they dont advertise in the print media. Ultimately I believe tvl under good management is capable of snaring a fair slice of this emerging market. Either way I believe the day of the travel agent is numbered.
