my friend who was on the vaxinia trial has breast cancer (TNBC). Unfortunately now she would be included in the ‘progressive disease’ numbers as she had progression in her lung. It doesn’t feel like that paints the whole picture though as she did feel like CF33 had some benefit. She was on the lowest dose IT combo arm and within a week of her first injection, a SPECT imaging scan showed HNIS in all of her known met sites (the skin one that was injected plus one in lung and in between ribs) and it even showed up in a previously undiscovered metastatic site. Her skin met also shrunk considerably over the course of a month or two as did some of her lymph nodes.
in chatting we have often wondered if she would have been better off on the IV arm? Or whether in time they will work out how to do a bit of both where appropriate(IT plus IV) or even whether a higher dose would’ve helped.
