What regulation defines a "Payday Loan"? The term is thrown around with abandon, but I have never been able to find a legal definition of a Payday Loan, nor found mention of it in the National Credit Code (NCC). It is like the word "Nazi", which is often applied to anybody as a slur, whether they are National Socialists (German: Nationalsozialist), or not. Surely if a loan is not expected to be repaid within one or two pay cycles, in the absence of a recognised legal definition it is unethical to call it a Payday Loan.
