Chemphys was listed as a related party of Tianqi Lithium (Chinese listed lithium company) on the Tianqi's IPO document. Chemphys's chairman & CEO, Mr Yihua Dai (Alison's dad) is brother-in-law of the boss of Tianqi Lithium, Mr Jiang.
M Joe Lowry had a Podcast with Chemphys' Director, Alison Dai (Mr Yihua Dai's daughter, director of Chemphys), on 22 August 2020 where lithium carbonate price was crashed on last cycle (from CNY 175,000 to CNY 38,000).
In the Podcast, Alison expected lithium shortage would happen in 2023, Mr Lowry expected in 2022.
The reality happened much faster than both expected. Lithium carbonate price recovered just in 4 months later, soared from CNY38,000/t to CNY500,000/t just in 18 months.
Now it is interesting time again, as lithium carbonate price crashed from the 2022 peak of CNY600,000/t to current CNY70,000/t, massive crash is inevitably followed with a big recovery. So I believe lithium price should bounce hard, most likely another bull cycle to come, from early next year, imo.
As Chemphys is a private company, so very little info is available publicly.

Polaris Energy Storage Network learned that on October 8, Chengdu Kaifei High Energy Chemical Industry Co., Ltd (Chemphys). and the People's Government of Hejiang County successfully signed a high-purity and battery-grade lithium salt production project. The total investment of the project is about 1 billion yuan, and it is planned to build a lithium salt production base. After production, it is expected to achieve annual sales revenue of more than 2.9 billion yuan, annual tax revenue of more than 67 million yuan, and provide about 220 jobs.
