    While independents are great, we wouldn't need them if the government just did it's job.

    The trouble with the COALition is that they don't have a plan. They have been resisting one for 15 years.

    The business council was happy to accept Turnbull's NEG but the after the change of leadership it was cancelled.

    If the COALition win, it will be business as usual. They'll keep giving their gas industry mates money. They'll keep wasting money on CCS. Etc.

    They will keep waffling about technology while deliberately stalling giving the fossil industry a free kick.

    I have no idea what Labor's actual policy is as they haven't released the details yet. Except to say that they are locking in a 43% reduction by 2030.

    Just by installing a firm target, that gives business a much more stable platform to invest in.

    With both the feds ( if Labor wins ) and every state and territory in Australia with solid net zero emission targets, I expect to see a much quicker and smoother transition.

    Importantly, one that largely removes the politics from it.
