I dont believe the ASIC reported short data.
24 million short as at 29 September . With just 37 million in nominee holdings .
That's a huge and not believable percentage of holders willing to short.
Though it does suggest that a few prime brokers- servicing the CFD industry- are holding long positions for some clients and short positions for others. Makes for volatile price action one day soon.
