Chief scientist may sue Jones over coal seam gas remarks.
NSW Chief Scientist Mary O'Kane is considering legal action against radio broadcaster Alan Jones for suggesting the mining industry may have unduly influenced her landmark report into coal seam gas.
Jones told his 2GB listeners last week "don't tell me the mining industry have got to the NSW Chief Scientist as well".
Professor O'Kane strongly rejected the allegation. She told Fairfax Media on Sunday she had been advised the comment was defamatory and was "considering my legal options."
