It’s fair to say the investment fraternity had placed OBM in the “too hard basket” following continued operational disappointment and dilution.
Luke comes very highly regarded and from a strong operational background as COO of Northern Star (NST). He has only been at the helm for 5 weeks but already instituted operational and cultural change that should pay dividends in the near term.OBM is a cluster of deposits that has been under drilled and requires focussed program of resource development and exploration drilling.
From an operational perspective and reading between the lines from it appears the left hand didn’t know what the right was doing, and Luke has identified what needs to be done and will instil cultural and operational change that is required.
He is encouraged by the quality of personnel on site and the potential to discover many more profitable ounces from this large perspective land package.
Definitely one to watch.
