Looks like the childcare reforms are set to go through the Senate in the next day or two. Judith Sloan piece in the Australian today , I quote " Childcare has become a beautiful business model , with rates of return above 20 per cent" . $1.7B of funding is now very likely to go into the childcare sector and childcare centres will find it easier to increase fees now , especially the trade up centres outside the inner city suburbs. The well off parents in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne and Sydney on over $350K family income a year will lose out but doubt they will give up one of their jobs.
