    GZ. The Swiss air traffic controller was really the wrong target. It was the management of the company responsible for air traffic control in the region who should have been his target. They allowed for only one controller operating all radar screens while the co-controller who should also have been in the control tower that night was allowed to take extended coffee breaks leaving one controller to perform an impossible task. Additionally, just to compound the errors, a telecommunications crew disabled the tower's ability to communicate with other control centres whilst the tower was operating - astounding error of judgement by maintenance personnel and symptomatic of management's lax supervision.
    And finally, if the single controller had not intervened with the automatic TCAS anti-collision avoidance system carried by both planes there never would have been a collision in the first place.
    Yeah, it was the fault of the Swiss controller but he was caught by many factors.
