There's some interesting views regarding child rearing being expressed in these comments:

"go to work abandoning her children to strangers" - just because you use childcare doesn't mean you are abandoning your children for goodness sake! I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous and hyperbolic, as well as terribly judgemental statement.

"the woman would sacrifice 10 years of her life to stay at home to look after the kids" - how would that be a 'sacrifice'?... it's such a demeaning statement that somehow looking after children is a sacrifice. I am sure many on these boards would consider it a privilege (me included)...seems to me that you consider you have somehow 'sacrificed' your life....
