    "CRU head of copper research Allan Trench tipped an average copper price of between $US4180 and $US4400 a tonne over the next 10 years."

    Hard to see how that could happen if the rest of the story (continued growth in demand) rings true. Those prices equate to under $2/lb. At that price a lot of marginal producers would be knocked out which in turn would reduce supply. That price would be more like a floor rather than an average.
