The six companies mentioned in the judgment are “Legal Mining Societies” including “Victoria 1-1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 8 del Salar de Maricunga.” The judgement doesn't say who owns these six companies but one can guess is one of the four entities that own Maricunga: (1) SQM, (2) the LPI-MSB joint venture, (3) Codelco, and/or (4) the Chilean State.
The judgement states that on the 9 Mar 2018 the Chilean State and a fully owned subsidiary of Codelco (Sociedad Salar de Maricunga spA) obtained a “contrato especial de operación de litio, CEOL.”
If this judgement affects LPI, and if does how, is for the company to comment.
