I thought of you when I saw this, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in the US (cancer arm of the NIH in the US) is doing it's bit to accelerate CAR-T development and this is just one example of what will need to be done to make CAR-T more affordable and accessible to more people over time.
The NCI's centralised CAR-T manufacturing facility doesn't quite cover the indications CHM are looking at, so we can't benefit from the free manufacturing offered by the NCI... but it is advancing the CAR-T field, and should give those in CAR-T field confidence that the US government is supporting the fast-track of CAR-T development with initiatives such as this.
