Was looking into other CART products under development in the gastric cancer setting….
there is a therapy called Satri-Cel which is currently in the clinic with Phase 1 just completed.
importantly this cart therapy has:
- proven safe
- shown good efficacy signals
- appears to be working for solid tumours (which has proven difficult for cart as opposed to blood cancers)
- achieved FDA RMAT designation for regenerative medicine off interim Phase 1 data which is a higher order designation than orphan/fast track/ break through designations
- targets claudin 18.2 (which is a different to CDH17, but a relatively novel target with only a dozen or so therapies in development )
- satri-cell cart appears to be 2nd generation whereas CDH17 is a 3rd generation cart
- was invited for an oral presentation (not just the usual poster) at ASCO
with a bit of luck CHM may follow in Satie-Cels footsteps as there are a lot of parallels. My hope is that CDH17s efficacy is even better tho!!
