Mortgage is the least of the problem for me no issues servicing a $400k debt taking my income into account and ignoring the wife's to simulate a loss of income scenario but putting $100k+ deposit is proving to be challenging. Its easy to say if you bought xyz time ago you'd be fine or just get in but if you are trying to build a deposit its an ignorant point. The goal posts are moving quite substantially especially in the last 12 months.
