Gallery Global Networks Announces Launch of Adult Movie Rental Business www.thedvdcompany.com
Gallery Global Networks Limited (GBN) today announced the launch of its new online adult DVD
rental business, TheDVDCompany.com, which is set to revolutionise the way adults access and enjoy
their R and X rated DVDS.
From as little as $ 8.95 per week customers will have access to practically every adult movie available
in Australia, a catalogue of literally thousands of titles. They can rent as many DVDs as they want
without incurring any late fees. They can have three movies out at any one time and keep them for as
long or short a period as they desire. There is no limit to how many times they can exchange. The
DVDs are delivered in discreet packaging with TheDVDCompany.com paying for postage to and
    from the consumer.
TheDVDCompany.com follows the Australian launch of similar services Homescreen (part owned by
Hoyts) and FetchMeMovies (part of Telstra). Whereas these businesses provide no adult DVDs they
also face multiple competitors operating in both the retail and rental markets ranging from
Woolworths to the likes of Blockbuster, Video Ezy and local video rental stores.
In comparison, TheDVDCompany.com has a virtual monopoly in the adult space as X rated material
can only be supplied via our licensed premises in Canberra.
GBN is committed to customer satisfaction, acquisition and retention. Following an examination of
available off-the-shelf software that had shortcomings in many of the above areas GBN opted to
develop our own sophisticated proprietary software and logistical systems. We now believe we have a
model akin to the Netflix business in the US which is experiencing enormous growth exemplified by
its recent announcement (1 July 2004) of a staggering 82 percent increase year-over-year of its
    subscriber base.
Already owning the most successful adult mail order company in Australia (Gallery Entertainment)
    GBN’s CEO, Chris Thorpe said:
“TheDVDCompany.com is perfectly placed to satisfy consumers who are fed up with their local video
shops making money out of late fees and who also want access to non-violent X rated adult movies in
a discreet manner, something neither Foxtel nor local rental shops can offer.”
“With exclusive distribution deals now in place with the majority of major adult production houses
ranging from Playboy to Vivid Entertainment, GBN has set its sights clearly on dominating the adult
DVD markets in both the wholesale and direct-to-consumer arenas.”
One of Vivid’s contract stars, Tera Patrick, is in Sydney for Sexpo (29 July to 1 August) at which time
    she will officially launch TheDVDCompany.com.
