The $300m deal just to be able to buy R/E is fanatastic news. I believe that on any other day, the following line from the Chairmans address would have been big.

REO per annum. Lynas will employ approximately 380 people to produce nearly half of that amount at 22,000 tonnes of REO per annum. Significant restructure and capital expenditure needs to occur in China over the next five years within this industry.
That is an amazing statistic. Assuming the Casio I own is working correctly, China produce 0.549 tonnes per employee; Lynas projection 57 tonnes per head. Unsure of salary differentials, but irrespective it is hard to imagine China's production at under 1% of Lynas' being sustainable long term.
