Yeah.
And I'd be more happy if Australia did something about the thousands of Australian children that live on the streets every night. Etc etc etc.
However, we have to deal with what's in front of us.
While I'm not hanging my hat on the Chinese emissions announcement, I find it a very encouraging step.
The deniers love to default to the " what about China " argument despite the fact that the Chinese are already investing heavily in renewable energy and electric transport.
For sure China might be doing this because it will enable them to dominate world trade rather than for their environmental aspirations . Especially while we still have nuffies like Trump and Morrison slowing down the transformation of their respective countries and making them less competitive.
The very important point is that if large nations like China can go to zero emissions then there is no excuse for anyone else not to. It also means that the technology will be thoroughly developed for everyone else to use.
It's a win win imo.
