That is just an aspirational target. As we have seen with renewables and other technologies previously, the improvements happen more quickly than anyone has predicted.

So, I expect China to smash that target. Even good old Australia is expected to zero emissions by 2050 as are many other industrialised countries. Many are expected to be 50% emissions by 2030 so between 2030 and 2060 there will be significant reductions in global emissions.

If China sees they are falling behind other nationals they will no doubt step it up otherwise they will be less competitive.

China have an advantage compared to Australia in that they can ramp up the roll out of nuclear powered plant and have industry to use the power generated.
So more solar, more wind, more hydro and more nuclear over the long term and maybe a move towards more electric powered vehicles.
