Spoke to a friend that has a business up at Karratha- Dampier.....he said it is as quiet as up there and was very quiet last winter ( dry season)....3 years ago 19,000 plus people in the town. Now about 10,000 people he reckons..... ( he is suffering a bit of depression as business is so bad up their)
Mate of his went to a repo auction at the Ellendale diamond mine that closed down Kimberly diamonds (asx listing)
His mate picked up two bits of equipment that would be worth $250,000 a piece new, at the sale for $2000 a piece an he bought the diesel fuel left in the Mine site tanks on site.
Just over 50,000 litres of diesel for $4k....8 cents a litre....
