I recall hearing a story of people attending Goldman Sachs job interviews being asked "what does 2 + 2 equal?"
The correct answer..."What would you like it to equal"
I think the alternate veiwpoint continues to be
1) China is not interested in paper gold
and
2) China is interested in the 'ability' of paper gold to make the 'real thing' cheaper to acquire
therefore
3) In order to make use of the 'ability' of paper gold to make the 'real thing' a bargain, they must 'appear' to be interested in the paper gold
hey, in this case 1 + 2 = 3 !!!
