By unsubstantiated I s'pose I meant that there is a constant theme - that you didn't touch on tonight - that the ETFs etc do not have the gold. Sure, there's the insurance issues etc, but many here deride ETFs because they supposedly don't have enough gold. The insurance issue is something that was dragged out because it is supposedly a sign to say: "Steer clear of ETFs". But have you ever tried to insure gold in your own home? My point is" every investment has risks. But for some reason, ETFs attract - sorry, gotta use that word again - drivel.



And I think that CIC investing in SPDR goes against that drivel that we are expected to swallow.

Gawd, really? this forum is so predictable - bash the USD and the Yanks (but only in a specific way), post plenty of info about the Feds, and then bash SPDR and throw GOLD.asx and the Perth Mint in the same boat.
