For this area of Africa,no iron ore and these countries stay poor. Money for the countries and their leaders will not come in without these iron ore projects.
Iron ore projects = Hydro power,jobs,Gas Terminal plants,new African Highways and local roads,Education,Share of the project's profits,Taxes,New Rail systems,Trade with fellow countries that is not possible at present,Funding from World Banks,and other funding Agencies,the list goes on.
Have you not read the local papers about attacks on people in Australia with weapons?
