wooduck, guns and bullets are one thing but perhaps China has another, heftier , weapon at it's disposal.
China holds ~$300 billion of Japanese debt which makes it Japan's largest creditor.
What would hurt Japanese interests would certainly be sanctions imposed by China to the $350 billion cross trade.
If China wanted to 'get even' with Japan for past and present transgressions there's plenty a muscled up China can do to a debt Trojan horse like Japan.
Depends if this ruckus is for domestic consumption or whether China has something real reason to stick it to a teetering Japan.
Due to the naive orchestration of those rallies in China it looks to me like some internal purpose.
